I have a special guest on my blog today. She’s no stranger here, but it’s been a while since I’ve hosted her. Please give a warm welcome to novelist, Robin Woods, author of The Watcher Series. She’s sharing about her latest projects, giving some author/writer tips, and letting us know a bit more about her life. Enjoy!
We decided to take advantage of the early spring weather and head for the beach this weekend. The kids spent hours playing in the surf, as I huddled under my 50 layers of sun protection. Hey, I’m not half Italian, I’m all things pasty. My Italian father-in-law did poke fun at my hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, sunblock, and umbrella. Don’t worry, I rocked the look. Anyway, 1:00 PM on a bright day is not the ideal time to take pics, so I decided to capture some silhouettes using the glare from the water. This is my favorite:
In The Hammock with YA fantasy author, Robin Woods
For this installment of Hammock, you’ll get the pleasure of meeting YA fantasy author, Robin Woods (if you haven’t already). She has authored five novels in The Watchers Series, including a prequel and not including an upcoming installment to its riveting predecessor, The Fallen. Instead of talking menacing Gods, other-worlds, and kick-arse heroines, however, we’ll be talking Mexican Cabana and book boyfriends *side-smile emoji*
I was organizing a few photos and ran across this one from last summer. In addition to writing, I am passionate about photography. I just wish I had a little more time to practice. Anyway, this was captured in an animal park not far from the coast of Oregon.
Do you ever have trouble writing dialog? Btw-love the banter in your books!
Dialog is one of my favorite things to write. In general, no, I don’t have trouble. I posted this on my Facebook Fanpage recently:
When I arrived home an afternoon last week, I found that the front door was unlocked. I stood frozen in the doorway for a moment. This was the text message exchange between my husband and I: (I’m in blue)
